Who we are

Lauren J. Solomon offers private advisory for personal style and wellbeing. We are based in New York, New York, and work with clients around the world. For the purposes of data protection law, Lauren J. Solomon is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

What we collect

Information you choose to share. When you send an inquiry, we receive:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the area you are interested in, if you select one (Internal, External, Both, or Unsure);
  • your message; and
  • automatically, the date and time you sent it and the address of the page on our site you sent it from.

A brief introduction is all we need. Please do not include medical records or sensitive health details in your inquiry. If you share them anyway, we will use them only to reply to you and will not keep them longer than necessary.

Technical information. When you visit, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each request. This happens so the site can load quickly, stay secure, and resist abuse. For example, we limit how often a single IP address can submit the inquiry form.

What we do not collect. We do not use analytics, advertising networks, tracking pixels, social media plug-ins, or embedded third-party content. Fonts and images are served from our own site.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site does not set any cookies of its own, and it uses none for analytics, advertising, or tracking. To make page transitions smooth, it stores a single temporary flag in your browser’s session storage. That flag contains no personal information, never leaves your device, and is cleared when you close the tab. Because it is strictly necessary for the site to work as designed, it does not require consent. If our hosting provider ever needs to set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse, it is used only for that purpose.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • read and reply to your inquiry, and continue the conversation you have started;
  • arrange an initial conversation and, if we decide to work together, prepare for and manage that engagement;
  • keep the site and the inquiry form secure, including detecting spam and preventing misuse; and
  • meet our legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims if that ever becomes necessary.

We do not add you to a mailing list, send newsletters or marketing, or use your information to make automated decisions about you.

Legal bases for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Steps before a contract. When you ask about working together, we use your details to respond and to take the steps you request before any engagement begins.
  • Legitimate interests. We have a legitimate interest in answering inquiries, running a secure website, and preventing abuse.
  • Consent. If you choose to share health-related or other sensitive information despite our request not to, we treat sending it as your explicit consent to use it solely to respond to you. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete it.
  • Legal obligation. Occasionally we may need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

When you become a client

If we go on to work together, information you share during the engagement is handled under the terms and confidentiality commitments of that engagement. Part of Lauren’s work is connecting clients with independent practitioners, such as wellbeing, medical, and style specialists. Lauren does not provide medical care herself. We introduce you to a practitioner, and share information with them, only with your consent. Each practitioner is independent and handles your information under their own policies and professional obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers inquiries by email, and our email service provider stores the messages we receive. They process information on our behalf to provide these services.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of you, us, or others.
  • With your consent. For example, when you ask us to introduce you to a practitioner.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred there. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on recognized safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions for providers certified under them, or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and their UK equivalent.

How long we keep information

We keep inquiries only as long as we need them to respond to you and to manage any relationship that follows. If we do not go on to work together, we generally delete your inquiry no later than 24 months after our last contact. If we do work together, we keep relevant records for the length of the engagement and afterward only as long as needed for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. We review what we hold at least once a year. Technical logs and rate-limiting records are kept by Cloudflare for a short period under its own retention practices.

How we protect information

The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The inquiry form is protected against spam and repeated submissions, and access to inquiries is limited to Lauren and the service providers who make the site and email work. No system is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share and keep as little as we can.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
  • receive your information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting anything done before.

United States residents. Residents of California, New York, and other states with privacy laws may have similar rights to know about, access, correct, and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it to profile you. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of your rights.

How to make a request. Email info@laurenjsolomon.com and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law allows, usually 30 days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof that they are authorized. If we cannot fully honor a request, we will explain why.

Complaints. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Children

This site and our services are intended for adults. They are not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

The site links to our Instagram profile and may link to other websites. When you follow those links, the other site’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in how we work or in the law. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
